Spurs star Lennon set to get the nod over Wright-Phillips for Croatia clash

Fabio Capello plans to unleash Aaron Lennon at Wembley and attack Croatia with raw pace, just as he did in Zagreb last year when Theo Walcott's hat-trick gave England a 4-1 win and put them in control of Group 6. Shaun Wright-Phillips was given a chance to start on the right in place of the injured Walcott against Slovenia on Saturday but failed to impress. In contrast, Lennon continued his sparkling club form when he replaced Wright-Phillips at half-time to win his 12th cap. The 22-year-old Tottenham winger cannot offer the same defensive qualities as some of his rivals on the right but, though Capello has yet to finalise his plans, he is determined to be positive. In Zagreb, Walcott was able to thrive thanks to the work of Emile Heskey and that seems enough to keep the Aston Villa striker in the team ahead of in-form Jermain Defoe. Walcott, out with a side strain which has delayed his start to the season, is now able to train pain-free and is targeting a return for Arsenal against Wigan on Saturday week.
