Spurs look to bag Man City's Bellamy - and Luis Figo is also on the radar

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is keeping close tabs on Craig Bellamy who could find himself slipping down the pecking order at Manchester City following the capture of Roque Santa Cruz and the impending arrival of Carlos Tevez. In addition, with City determined not to give up their pursuit of Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o and with Robinho already on their books there is likely to be a major battle for starting places in attack at Eastlands next season. Redknapp, who is also hopeful he can persuade 36-year-old Luis Figo to shelve his retirement plans and play for Spurs, was eager to bring Bellamy in from West Ham in January only to be gazumped by free-spending City who paid £14million for his services. The Spurs boss used his persuasive powers on Figo (right), who hung up his boots at the end of last season after helping Inter Milan to the Serie A title, at a golf tournament in the Algarve in aid of Sir Bobby Robson's cancer charity at the weekend. Meanwhile, Didier Zokora's move to Sevilla could be back on with Spurs understood to be ready to drop their initial £8.6m asking price by around £1.3m. Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido said: 'I have confidence in finding a solution to this subject in a few days because the situation has changed after the first meeting.'
