Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon have expressed an interest in Manchester City striker Felipe Caicedo.[LNB] The Ecuador international joined the Blues from Basel in January 2008 but has struggled to make an impact at Eastlands.[LNB]Mark Hughes' summer transfer activity has only further served to suggest that Caicedo has little future at the club.[LNB]The arrivals of Roque Santa Cruz, Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor have pushed the South American further down the attacking pecking order and he accepts the time may have come to move on.[LNB]"For me it is difficult to get in the starting XI at City and the opportunity to go to Sporting would be good," he said.[LNB]"I don't think it would be a problem to adapt to life in Portugal and the possibility to play in the Champions League appeals to me.[LNB]"The coach at Sporting (Paulo Bento) has asked about my services and it is nice to feel wanted as a player."[LNB]Reports suggest Sporting are looking to take Caicedo on loan for the 2009/10 campaign with the option to seal a permanent deal at a later date.
