Snubbed Tevez blasts Fergie: I would have won the Champions League for Manchester United

Carlos Tevez reckons Manchester United would have won the Champions League final if Sir Alex Ferguson hadn't dropped him. The Argentina striker was left on the bench for the 2-0 defeat to Barcelona in Rome - and his substitute appearance proved to be his final game for United. Tevez's contract expires today and he has opted to quit the Barclays Premier League champions after growing frustrated with his lack of starts at Old Trafford. He was particularly angry at being snubbed for the Champions League final in which United were completely outplayed by the Spanish giants. 'You cannot argue with Alex Ferguson,' said Tevez. 'He is like the president of England. It is impossible, you always lose. 'But he made a mistake to leave me on the bench. That was the only final the team had lost since I had been at Manchester United.' Tevez is now expected to make a £25million move to arch rivals Manchester City after being offered a four-year deal. 'My family knows how much I suffered at United,' he added. 'I could not arrive home after a match or a training session and forget my pain. It was not good and I transmitted all my sadness to them.'
