Sidwell set for comeback

Aston Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell could return for Monday's Barclays Premier League clash against Manchester City. The 26-year-old former Reading and Chelsea player has missed the last two games with a thigh injury. Manager Martin O'Neill told the club's website: "Steve is improving. We will take it lightly for the first couple of days but I am hoping that he would be all right." Monday's game at Villa Park, however, is again likely to come too soon for defender Luke Young, who is still to feature this season due to a thigh problem. O'Neill feels the first game after the next international break, against Chelsea on October 17, is a more realistic target. He said: "Luke is doing really well. He is improving his fitness and his mental strength each week. I would reckon after the break, you would think he would putting himself forward and be in strong contention."
