Ronaldo would reject City

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he would never consider a move to Manchester City. The Eastlands outfit are perhaps the only club other than Real Madrid who could afford the world record £80million fee it took to buy the 24-year-old but the former Manchester United star has dismissed the suggestion. The Portuguese ace conceded that matters involving the Premier League no longer concern him, with his mind focused only on helping Real get back to the top of La Liga. City have sent a clear message to their rivals with the acquisition of Ronaldo's former team-mate Carlos Tevez along with Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz, not to mention their pursuit of John Terry and Emmanuel Adebayor, but the Fifa World Player of the Year insists he would never move to Eastlands. "Never," he told Sky Sports News. "City try to build a nice team, they buy a few good players but this is not my problem. "It is a problem for Manchester (United), Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. My league is different now. "I must concentrate on my team to concentrate on pre-season, to fight with Barcelona, Valencia these teams. I don't care what Manchester City do." Having spent six years at United prior to his switch to Real, Ronaldo admitted that it was hard to leave Old Trafford. "It is not an easy situation," he added. "I arrive in Manchester when I was just 18-years old and I have been there six years. "It is a lot of time. I win many things there, collective and individual awards and trophies and I met very good people there and many friends. "But my new life is a challenge and I am a challenging man and I think it is a good move." With Real having spent close to £200million on transfers this summer Ronaldo knows that success is not just hoped for, but expected this season. "It is very important," he highlighted. "Madrid buy a few players, expensive players and we have to do good things to win the league and show the people we are here for something. "The players before were great players but the new players coming in have to contribute to win the league and I hope everything is coming good and I think we have a chance to win the league."
