Robins close in on keeper

Bristol City are on the verge of signing a goalkeeper on loan but it will not be Manchester City's Kasper Schmeichel. The Robins are in the market for a keeper after opting against signing trialist Martin Lejsal and speculation mounted that Schmeichel could be arriving at Ashton Gate. But Johnson told the club's official website: "I don't know where these things emanate from. I think one person tells another and then it becomes fact." He added: "We think we've got (a loan keeper) ready to come on board in the next day or two, unless something hits a snag."
