Robinho's father admits Barca interest

Robinho's future at Manchester City has been brought into fresh doubt following an admission from his father and agent.

The Brazil star has been linked with a move back to Spain with Barcelona in recent weeks just 15 months after leaving Real Madrid for Eastlands in a British transfer record £32million transfer.

City boss Mark Hughes remains adamant that Robinho - who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury - is a key part of his plans despite the flurry of recent speculation.

However, that has not stopped Robinho's father, Gilvan da Souza, from speculating about his son's future.

"We are waiting for Manchester City to tell us something about the future of my son," he is quoted as saying in Barcelona-based newspaper El Mundo Deportivo.

"I am very aware of what is said and published in Barcelona in relation to my son.

"Until the two clubs do agree and we officially have a decision, we must keep them guessing.

"Robinho is a professional who is bound to City, with whom he has a contract, but if your club (Barca) agrees, the choice is very exciting. Let's see."
