Roberto Mancini will hold Carlos Tevez talks in bid to keep striker

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini will tell Carlos Tevez he must stay at the club on Friday.

He also believes the Argentine does not want to leave Eastlands andaddressed the issue of his transfer request for the first time lastnight ahead of this evening's Europa League tie against Juventus.

Mancini said: 'I don't think he's unhappy, really unhappy. Carloshas more than three years on his contract and is our player. I willspeak with him on Friday and say he must stay.

'It's an important season, and he's an important player. I think wecan change his mind. We can change the history of the club and do goodwork together.'

Tevez, 26, has not travelled with the reserve squad that will play in Italy. Mancini has yet to decide whether to strip the striker of the captaincy before Monday's Barclays Premier League game at home to Everton.

He added: 'I want to speak with Carlos and, yes, I want him to stay.'
