Pulis denies Dunne bid

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has denied that he has tabled an offer for Manchester City captain Richard Dunne. The Potters chief has made it clear that he is determined to bring in a centre-half this summer although it appears Dunne is not one of his targets. The defender can boast a wealth of Premier League experience and City's ongoing pursuit of England captain John Terry could mean his days are numbered at Eastlands. Reports suggest that Pulis had already put in a multi-million pound offer for the former Everton youngster but he admits that he has not even spoken to City boss Mark Hughes about a possible deal for Dunne. "As for Man City, I haven't even spoken to them, let alone put in an offer for anyone as I'm supposed to have done," he told The Sentinel. "You could say it isn't exactly a Dunne deal." No Tottenham interestPulis also rejected rumours that defender Ryan Shawcross' assured displays in his first Premier League season last term had attracted interest from Tottenham. "You are going to get this kind of speculation and we just have to live with it," he added. "Your only concern is any disruption to your own players, but Ryan isn't the sort to lose sleep over such stories, particularly as they're not true. "I haven't spoken to anybody at Tottenham. If there was something going on, I would have expected to hear from the manager because that's the way Harry Redknapp goes about his business."
