Petrov not happy on bench
Martin Petrov has hinted that he would consider a move away from Manchester City to secure regular football.
The Bulgarian winger established himself as a key player at City under Sven Goran Eriksson following his arrival from Atletico Madrid in 2007.
However, a serious knee injury limited his involvement last season and Robinho took his place in an attacking wide-left role.
Mark Hughes has further strengthened his squad this summer and Petrov does not expect to get much playing time if he stays at Eastlands.
He does not want to spend the season warming the substitutes' bench and admits he will have to keep his options open.
"I don't see City depending too much on me this year, at least from what I have seen from the pre-season friendlies so far," Petrov told Dnevnik ahead of Bulgaria's friendly against Latvia on Wednesday.
"No footballer is content with polishing the bench and I am no exception."
Petrov claims a number of clubs have expressed an interest in securing his services for the new season.
"There were several enquiries but no offers as of yet," he said.
