No way Jose: City reject Mourinho link, insisting Hughes has total control
Manchester City chief executive Garry Cook insists Mark Hughes will havecontrol of transfers this summer after backing the manager and insisting theyhave 'never talked to Jose Mourinho or anyone else.'
After the lucrative takeover of the club by the Abu Dhabi United Group lastsummer hopes were high for this season.
And despite Hughes only managing to lead his side to mid-table in the BarclaysPremier League, Cook maintains the Welshman is the right manager to take Cityforward.
'Mark had an appraisal of his performance for the year, like any employee,' Cook told The Times.
