No letting up from Hart

Joe Hart knows he has to keep on improving if he is to retain the number one jersey at Manchester City.[LNB] The England international won the battle of the Blues' keepers this summer as Roberto Mancini handed him a starting berth for City's Premier League opener at Tottenham.[LNB]A star showing in the capital fully justified his inclusion at the expense of the more experienced Shay Given, and he kept his place for a midweek Europa League clash with Timisoara.[LNB]Hart is now hoping that he can tie down the role on a permanent basis and help City fulfil their undoubted potential.[LNB]He knows he will have to be on top of his game if he is to achieve that target, as Given is still breathing down his neck.[LNB]The Irishman may yet be sent out on loan, having made it clear that he has no desire to be a back-up, but for now Hart will be doing all he can to remain top dog at Eastlands.[LNB]"It's a difficult situation but I'm enjoying it at the moment," said the 23-year-old shot-stopper.[LNB]"We speak about it, but there's only so much we can comment on.[LNB]"I'm taking everything step-by-step and trying to improve my game. I have to do that because if I don't, I know Shay will take it away from me.[LNB]"I'm a confident kind of person, but not in a cocky way. You have to believe in yourself and enjoy what you do and it's nice to be playing.[LNB]"Everyone wants to be in the side because City are an exciting prospect at the moment. We've had big games at Spurs and in Romania and now we have another big game coming up against Liverpool.[LNB]"It's the first home game of the new Premier League season and it should be an exciting night."
