[LNB]Onuoha has dual nationality and is eligible to represent Nigeria after a Fifa vote in June removed the age limit on changing national teams.[LNB]He was initially approached by the country of his birth in 2007 but turned the offer down.[LNB]However, Amodu revealed that Nigeria will be launching a new initiative to recruit players with roots in the country to play for their national side.[LNB]"We have sent word to Nedum to see if he will be interested," he said. "We will get new players but first we have to qualify (for the World Cup finals)."[LNB]Another potential target is Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi, who was also born in Nigeria and has represented England at Under-21 level.[LNB]
