Tranmere Rovers have signed Manchester City goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen on a six-month loan deal. The Faroe Islands international, 23, had a loan spell at Wrexham in 2008/09 and has made just one substitute appearance for City. [LNB]Nielsen told BBC Radio Merseyside: "I spoke to Shay Logan, who was here last season, and he said it's a great club. [LNB]"I need to see everyone a bit more in training but from what I've seen so far it has been really good." [LNB]He added: "Tranmere have been interested for quite a while and I've just extended my deal with City as well, so that needed to be sorted out before I came here.[LNB] [LNB][LNB] "I didn't know much about the squad before I came here. But what I saw against Nottingham Forest was really good and I was impressed by it." [LNB]Nielsen played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 friendly win over Forest at Prenton Park on Wednesday and manager Les Parry was pleased with what he saw. [LNB]"In terms of goalkeeping, he's only young," said Parry. "But he's done a lot for his age and I'm sure the fans will really take to him. [LNB]"He's a big lad and he didn't have that much to do [against Forest] but he made a good save in the first half, gathered a few and punched a couple of corners. [LNB]"I'm sure he'll be quite pleased with his own performance. I'm very pleased with our capture."
