New Ozil deal not yet agreed

Werder Bremen's Germany international midfielder Mesut Ozil has dismissed claims he has already agreed a new contract with the club.[LNB] The 21-year-old is locked in talks with Bremen about an extension to his deal, which is due to expire in 2011, but insists an agreement has not yet been reached.[LNB]"It's in the papers, but it is not correct," Ozil said. "We are still holding negotiations and we will just have to see what emerges from them."[LNB]Should Ozil not commit to a new deal by the summer, Bremen may choose to sell him rather than risk losing him for nothing next year.[LNB]But their director of sport Klaus Allofs is keen to convince Ozil to stay at the Weserstadion.[LNB]"It would be great if it were to happen, but we are not done yet," he said. "We have been looking for a solution for a while now which suits Werder Bremen and also Mesut.[LNB]"Maybe we will soon find one."[LNB]Manchester City are among several clubs who have been linked with Ozil's services.
