Milner deal imminent, admits Mancini

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini hopes to complete the signing of Aston Villa midfielder James Milner by Wednesday at the latest.[LNB] The England midfielder is on the verge of sealing his move to Eastlands from Villa Park, with Stephen Ireland set to move in the other direction.[LNB]A fee has reportedly been agreed between the clubs and Milner, 24, has travelled north to undergo a medical.[LNB]"I hope we can close it either today or tomorrow," Mancini said at a press conference to unveil another new signing in Mario Balotelli.[LNB]"I think that Milner is a good player, an English player which is important. I think that Milner can play in different positions."[LNB]Asked if the deal would involve Ireland, Mancini added: "I hope so.[LNB]"We have today and tomorrow to close the deal."
