James Milner has warned Manchester City's rivals that the best is still to come after admitting they didn't play to their best at Blackpool.[LNB] City consolidated their spot in the top two of the standings with a hard-fought 3-2 victory at Blackpool over the weekend.[LNB]The result takes City's points tally to 17 from eight matches, just two points adrift of league leaders Chelsea.[LNB]Despite their fantastic start to the season, midfielder Milner believes there is room for improvement.[LNB]"They (Blackpool) put us under a lot of pressure, which we knew they would. They've got a good home support behind them and they're a good team that play it around really well," Milner said.[LNB]"We managed to ride the storm, score three good goals, and hung on at the end.[LNB]"The best is to come, but it's the sign of a good team when they can win and not play the best football.[LNB]"Hopefully we can keep improving as a team, keep moving forward and hopefully you'll see the best of us soon."[LNB]Milner's comments were echoed by team-mate Gareth Barry, who also heaped praise on match-winner Carlos Tevez, who scored yet another brace in City colours.[LNB]"He (Tevez) has carried on from last season. He's a world-class striker," Barry added.[LNB]"Last season he got 20-odd goals and I'm sure he can do that again. If he does, we'll be right up there come the end of the season."[LNB]He continued: "We got exactly what we expected - a good Blackpool team that's surprised a few teams already. We knew it was going to be a tough game.[LNB]"But we stayed strong and we knew we'd get them on the counter-attack. We scored three good goals."
