Manchester City's Roque Santa Cruz keen to play with Carlos Tevez and Samuel Eto'o

Santa Cruz has started his pre-season training early, since completing an £18 million move from Blackburn, in a bid for be fit for the start of the new season. No sooner had the Paraguayan forward agreed to join Mark Hughes' men, though, his new club were strongly being linked with moves for Tevez and Eto'o. Manchester City make 'stratospheric' Eto'o offerIn fact, Tevez is expected to sign for City during the summer transfer window while Eto'o is currently the subject of a £25m bid. Should both actually sign on it has been suggested that Santa Cruz would struggle to break into the starting XI. However, the 27-year-old does not see it that way and believes playing alongside the likes of Tevez and Eto'o would only benefit both himself and the team. Santa Cruz said: "I'd be happy if we signed Tevez and Eto'o. Tevez is a fantastic player, if he does come it will be such a great thing for the team because of the kind of player he is. "He's a very hard worker, he does everything for the team and only wants to look good as long as the team are successful. If we get him it will be a big point in our favour. "He is just the type of player the boss Mark Hughes likes - hard working with plenty of skills. "It's the same with Eto'o. He's shown his quality at Barcelona. He scored in the Champions League final against United so there is no need for me to talk about how good he is." Meanwhile, City striker Darius Vassell has flown to Turkey for talks with Ankaragucu.
