Manchester City's Craig Bellamy considers transfer request over Mark Hughes sacking

The 30-year-old striker was one of several players - including Shay Given - who wanted to raise their concerns with City chief executive Garry Cook on Saturday evening after they were told that Hughes was out of a job. [LNB]His replacement, Roberto Mancini, will be presented to the media today and will be bombarded with questions about the nature of his controversial appointment. [LNB]Bellamy arrived at Eastlands in January in a £14 million deal from West Ham United and has been one of Hughes' most successful signings. [LNB]The pair have a strong relationship having previously worked together at Blackburn Rovers and Wales. [LNB]Bellamy is not the only City player disillusioned by events, with Given and midfielder Gareth Barry also understood to be particularly angry. [LNB]There have been suggestions that striker Carlos Tévez another who greatly admired Hughes may also want to leave but, at present, that is believed not to be the case. [LNB]Mancini's first game in charge is the Boxing Day fixture against Stoke City. [LNB]
