Carlos Tevez is NOT preparing to leave Manchester City for a return to former club Corinthians in two years, Sportsmail understands.

Reports this week have suggested the Argentina international would quit Eastlands in 2013 for a return to Brazil.

But sources close to Tevez have told Sportsmail that while the former Manchester United striker is open to a return to Corinthians one day, he has no intentions of heading back to South America during the foreseeable future.

Tevez scored 31 goals in 47 games for Corinthians during his time with the Brazilian club.

The 27-year-old shocked City fans earlier this season by handing in a transfer request - but has since reaffirmed his commitment to Roberto Mancini's side.
