Manchester City win on Women's Champions League debut

Manchester City won on their Women's Champions League debut with a 2-0 defeat of Russia's Zvezda 2005 in the round of 32.

Jill Scott put the hosts ahead in the 34th minute, before Lucy Bronze secured victory in the third minute of second-half stoppage time.

There was also a comfortable 3-0 victory for Barcelona away to Minsk. After Jennifer Hermoso gave the visitors a fifth-minute lead, Marta Torrejon added a second goal in the 32nd minute before Hermoso's second in the first minute of added time in the second half.

Norway's LSK defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-1. Irene Paredes' 35th-minute goal gave the visitors a half-time lead but, after Emilie Haavi equalised in the 67th minute, two further goals in the space of six minutes from Lene Mykjaland and Ingrid Marie Spord completed their fightback.

Sweden's Eskilstuna United, meanwhile, defeated Glasgow City 1-0, courtesy of Mimmi Larsson's 52nd-minute finish.

In the Women's Super League 1, Arsenal Ladies won 5-0 at Doncaster Rovers Belles, leaving their hosts bottom of the table and pointless after 12 games. Two goals each from Danielle Carter and Pablos Sanchon, followed by a fifth from Kelly Smith, secured all three points.
