Manchester City v Liverpool Live

The battle for fourth place and that priceless Champions League spot comes to the City of Manchester Stadium on Sunday, with Roberto Mancini's Citizens looking to make it seven Premier League wins in a row at Eastlands. Indeed, City have won 18 and lost just one of their last 22 Premier League home matches, as they battle for a place at the top table in Europe. Facing the nouveau riche Manchester club at the weekend are a Liverpool side hoping to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal last week. That loss at the Emirates Stadium may have been the Reds' only defeat in their last eight league fixtures, but of late Rafa Benitez's side have struggled in front of goal. Indeed, the Anfield giants have bagged only five goals in total in their last four Premier League games, with four coming courtesy of Dutch attacker Dirk Kuyt and the other being an own goal. While City have been strong on home soil, Liverpool have been rather shaky on the road this season, taking maximum points from just two of their last ten away games in the league. Those travelling to Eastlands on Sunday hoping for goals and drama may well be disappointed, as four of the last six Premier League meetings between City and Liverpool have ended as draws, while there have been just six goals scored in total in Liverpool's last six Premier League away matches. However, in their meeting earlier this season, there were four goals, with Yossi Benayoun's 77th-minute goal securing a 2-2 draw for the Reds at Anfield. Following a somewhat disappointing display at Stoke in midweek, Manchester City's Micah Richards explained that the Citizens will be looking to impress against the Reds. The England international defender said: "I think Liverpool will be a different sort of game. "We've beaten Arsenal, (Manchester) United and Chelsea at home, so there's no reason why we can't beat Liverpool if we do the basics well and we all work hard."
