Manchester City star Bridge ready to be back in action for start of 2010

Wayne Bridge hopes to be back in action by the start of the New Year.[LNB]The Manchester City full-back has been sidelined by a knee ligament injury he suffered in the Premier League victory over Chelsea at the start of the month.[LNB]Initial estimates were that the England star would be out of action for six weeks, which made him doubtful for both legs of the eagerly-awaited Carling Cup semi-final with Manchester United.[LNB] Blow: Wayne Bridge picked up the injury during Manchester City's clash with Chelsea earlier this month[LNB]However, Bridge is making good progress and has raised the possibility that he could be back sooner than anticipated.[LNB]'It is definitely a lot better,' he told City's official website. 'I am walking without a brace this week.[LNB]'I need to make sure I am strong first.
