Manchester City on alert as Kaka eyes Premier League move

City attempted to bring the former world player of the year to Eastlands for a world record £100 million transfer in January but the player elected to stay in Italy as relations between the two clubs soured. When the summer transfer window opens City will be looking to spend some of their Abu Dhabi based owners' vast wealth and Kaka's name will no doubt once more be on their wanted list. Florentino Perez, who hopes to become president of Real Madrid once again in the summer elections, has made the promise of signing Kaka central to his election campaign. However, with Kaka enjoying a close personal friendship with fellow Brazilian international Robinho, the Premier League appeals more than Spain to the player. 'I like the Premier League a lot,' said Kaka, 'so maybe that would be my choice if I leave Milan. 'Whenever I can, I try to swap experiences with my friends playing in other countries and leagues. 'All the players that I've talked to that play in the Premier League, or used to play there, say that it's a tough league – tough, very fast and competitive.' Robinho has given Kaka positive feedback about England since he joined Manchester City for British record £32.5 million from Real Madrid last summer. '[Robinho] is a key player for Brazil,' said Kaka, 'and it is the same now at Manchester City.'
