Manchester City have been given the go-ahead to build a new multi-million pound football academy and training campus, the scope of which is unparalleled in British football.[LNB]It will be based on an 80-acre brownfield site next to the Etihad Stadium in Openshaw, incorporating 17 pitches and a 7,000 capacity stadium for youth matches.
