Manchester City have a ball digging up Thaksin Shinawatra's magic crystals

Thaksin Shinawatra clearly thought it was a good idea when he ordered a 'lucky' magic crystal ball to be buried at Eastlands but it hasn't paid off at Manchester City.[LNB]The former City owner had the ball, along with porcelain elephants which are considered as symbols of wisdom, put at various places underneath the playing  surface to 'energise the players' and create 'harmony' at the stadium in 2008.[LNB]But Thaksin's feng shui has done little to improve City's 'luck' andthey were dug up by the club as part of drainage improvementsearlier this week.[LNB] Ripped up: City head groundsman Lee Jackson digs up Thaksin's crystal ball[LNB] Magic: Jackson shows off the former Manchester city's owner's feng shui item[LNB]Ill-fated: Thaksin shows off City shirt back in 2007 before he selling the club to a Abu Dhabi billionnaire[LNB]Although off the pitch the club was taken over by an Abu Dhabi billonaire later that year, the Blues are still yet to win a trophy on the pitch.[LNB]And theyalso lost out to Tottenham Hotspur in the race for fourth spot in the Barclays Premier League this season -thus failing to qualify for the Champions League despite spending inexcess of £200million on players.[LNB]The luck has clearly not rubbed off on Thaksin, the former Prime Minister of Thailand, either. [LNB]After selling City, Thaksin became embroiled in allegations of corruption in his native Thailand and several warrants for his arrest were issued.[LNB]He was also subsequently stripped of more than half his seized assets, worth nearly £1billion, and is now a fugitive.
