Manchester City favourites to sign Alexis Sanchez, says Udinese president

By Telegraph staff[LNB]8:43AM BST 14 Jun 2011[LNB]Comments[LNB] The 22-year-old Chile international is being courted by a who's who of Europe's top clubs - Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Juventus [LNB]City have already had one £21m offer rejected by Udinese and Barcelona also fell short of the asking price, despite offering Bojan and Thiago as part of the deal. [LNB]City have now upped the stakes, and their bid, however, by sending chief executive Garry Cook out to Italy to iron out a deal, and it appears to have done the trick. [LNB]Udinese's club president, Giampaolo Pozzo, said: "If Sanchez were to leave I would give City the highest percentage to sign him because English football is rich and it knows how to value young talent.
