Manchester City first-team coach Fausto Salsano has confirmed the club are tracking Napoli pair Marek Hamsik and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

City are planning for life after Carlos Tevez after the Argentina striker's relationship with boss Roberto Mancini broke down.

Tevez is back at City after a two-week ban - for refusing to come off the bench against Bayern Munich - but Corinthians are ready to make a bid in January.

Slovakia international Hamsik and Argentine Lavezzi impressed in a Champions League draw at the Etihad Stadium last month and Salsano said: 'They're two players who we like asour objective at City is to do great things.

'Hamsik has developed into an important player. He's now acquired the right experience.

'We've been watching him since we were at Inter and he played for Brescia.

'And Lavezzi is a devastating player. He's the kind of guy who does real harm in one-on-one situations.'
