Manchester City 5 - 0 Barnsley: FA Cup quarter-final video highlights

Carlos Tevez is driving Manchester City all the way to Wembley. Well not literally, of course.

Indeed, the Argentine may not be motoring anywhere for some time after being arrested last Thursday on suspicion of driving while disqualified.

‘He drives when he wants’ chanted the home fans.

Well he certainly scores when he wants in the FA Cup as he grabbed a hat-trick yesterday to make it eight goals in 11 appearances in this competition for City.

The little striker also supplied the other two.

So it is another trip to Wembley, this time for a semi-final. The famous stadium used to be a place other big clubs went to as City looked on enviously.

They enjoyed just one trip in 25 years before Roberto Mancini’s arrival — and that was in the play-off final to get out of the third tier of English football.

Now City can look forward to a fourth trip in two years, with manager and fans hoping to make it five by Saturday May 11.

This competition was the catalyst for Mancini at City, just like the domestic cups had been in Italy.

It also provided the club with their first silverware in 35 years when Yaya Toure’s goal defeated Stoke in the 2011 final.
