Man City v Hamburg live!
All over. What a game. Credit to City, they've given it a real go and deserved their win on the night. The tie was decided in the first leg, though, and it's Hamburg who go through to meet Werder Bremen in the semi-finals. Dynamo Kiev will face Shakhtar Donetsk in the other last-four clash.[LNB]90+4 Given launches it forward, Richards flicks it on and Caicedo volleys it goalwards. Robinho had every right to go for it and indeed got a toe to the ball but it was a definite foul as his foot was high. The players collide and Robinho comes away with the ball and will surely slot home. Decent shooting opportunity for Elano.[LNB]67 Robinho and Caicedo link up well on the edge of the Hamburg box. The Brazilian just has the ball nicked away from him and flings himself to the floor. Great finish from Caicedo but Hamburg will have justifiable complaints about Richards being offside if City go on to win this one...[LNB]50 GOAL - CAICEDO. What did I say about the early City goal? Elano's slid ball towards Richards didn't reach him though the defender was offside. Ireland picked it up and slid it across to Caicedo, who took a touch and finished well.[LNB]48 Boateng races down the right and slides the ball in towards Trochowski but it's well defended. City pump it clear but Caicedo has strayed offside once again.[LNB]47 Kompany joins his captain in the book after bringing down Guerrero centrally. Credit to City, they're giving this a real go, but the facts speak for themself - as good as they've been, they're 4-2 down on aggregate and if Hamburg score again...[LNB]45 Dunne now in the last-chance saloon. Foul from behind on Jarolim and he's given a real ticking-off by the referee. Pretty clear that's the last time he'll commit a foul without being booked. If he hadn't already seen yellow, that was a banker booking.[LNB]44 Elano curls a lovely ball over the top to Caicedo, who has just strayed offside. He's furious with the verdict, but again there's no changing the officials' minds.[LNB]43 Elano fires in an incredible strike from the free-kick which beats Rost all ends up but bounces back off the crossbar. That was oh so close to a wonderful goal.[LNB]43 Free-kick to City around 30 yards out centrally as the increasingly effective Robinho is fouled. Elano looks like he fancies this one.[LNB]42 Robinho tries to weedle his way through two challengers inside the Hamburg box but is eventually shepherded away from danger. This time it's Bridge running from deep but his cross/shot is too much of a shot and not enough of a cross as Rost gathers unchallenged.[LNB]41 Elano whips the ball in but it's defended well from Hamburg, with Trochowski making the eventual clearance.[LNB]40 Free-kick to City deep in Hamburg territory out on the left as Caicedo is brought down. Interesting.[LNB]39 Just caught a replay - Dunne was unlucky. As far as the referee was concerned it was and is a foul, though, so he's got to be careful.[LNB]38 Dunne penalised for a foul on Olic. He's walking a tightrope here. Can only be a couple more fouls away from a second yellow.[LNB]37 Ireland latches onto what appears to be a miscontrol from Trochowski, who has returned after that head injury, but Robinho has been penalised for a foul. He claims it was a shoulder barge but the referee won't change his mind now.[LNB]36 Just feels like the tempo of this one has dropped a little.[LNB]35 Richards attempts an audacious/ridiculous overhead kick from an Elano free-kick but he misses completely and the ball drops at Robinho's feet. He cuts the ball back to Caicedo, who has a great chance but Rost saves superbly at his feet.[LNB]35 Trochowski hasn't returned as quickly as Kompany. His head evidently needs more 'fixing' than Kompany's nose.[LNB]34 Bit of claret from Kompany's nose. He's changed his shirt in case anyone's interested. Now wearing No 50.[LNB]33 Bridge and Ireland this time link well but Caicedo apparently can't decide whether to shoot or play a one-two with Bridge and his subsequent effort is rather tame.[LNB]32 Still frantic at both ends. Elano clips the ball in but it's inches above the leaping Caicedo centrally.[LNB]31 Guerrero curls the ball in from the left after springing the offside trap - though the City fans don't agree - and Trochowski climbs highest but his header is straight down Given's throat.[LNB]30 Decent link play from City as Caicedo and Robinho link well only for Zabaleta to just miscontrol and knock the ball out for a goal-kick. That's better from the hosts, though.[LNB]29 The City attack falters as Bridge can't keep it in play.[LNB]28 Elano smacks a crossfield ball all of 50 yards towards Robinho but Boateng just gets a flick to it to divert it out for a throw.[LNB]27 Trochowski curls in another shot from distance which loops up off a defender and goes behind for a corner. The ball in is flicked on towards Mathijsen but City hold firm.[LNB]26 Trochowski curls in a shot from distance which Given turns behind. The corner is whipped in and City clear but again it's Hamburg who pick it up.[LNB]25 City force Hamburg all the way back from the byline to the edge of their own area, but the German side keep the ball superbly. City hassling and harrying but Hamburg looking so cool.[LNB]24 Elano drifts a lovely ball into the Hamburg box. Ireland finds space at the back post beyond the last defender but can't cut it back into the middle, merely diverting it into the side netting.[LNB]23 Aogo whips the ball into the City box but once again Onuoha is there to head clear. Hamburg just having the better of things these last few minutes - they're so good on the ball.[LNB]22 Kompany clatters in on Jarolim from behind inside the centre circle and it's no surprise to see the referee award the free-kick. Could easily have been a booking as well.[LNB]21 Hamburg force a throw deep in City territory as Pitroipa knocks the ball off Richards. Jansen flings 'a Delap' into the City box but it's headed clear well by Onuoha.[LNB]20 Dunne hammers the ball forward towards Robinho but Boateng deals with it superbly, taking it down before carrying it clear confidently.[LNB]19 Robinho makes a great arcing run through a gap in the Hamburg defence but Caicedo can't find him. City make a mess of the throw-in, though, and Hamburg try to work a shooting opportunity only for Given to gather well.[LNB]14 Olic slips away from Dunne down the Hamburg left and the big City skipper is far too tight, hauling down the Croatian unceremoniously. He wrote: "Sorry to have Martin Jol leave Spurs but chuffed he's doing such a great job at Hamburg - they will see City off comfortably tonight."[LNB]12 GOAL - GUERRERO. City might be lacking the requisite composure in the final third but you can't say the same for Hamburg. Pitroipa cuts the ball in from the right and after Olic miscontrols Guerrero is quickest to react and drills the ball home. Game over?[LNB]11 Zabaleta bursts forward and slides it inside to Ireland but the Irishman fails to get the ball under control and Hamburg are able to clear. Promising signs from City but they're just lacking composure in the final third.[LNB]10 End-to-end stuff this one. First Pitroipa cuts in and hammers a shot straight at Onuoha before Olic picks up the scraps and batters a shot across goal. No-one following up, though, so it's easily cleared.[LNB]9 Robinho and Pitroipa collide around 35 yards from the City goal. It's a Hamburg free-kick, though, with the Brazilian penalised for a bodycheck.[LNB]8 Dreadful goalkeeping from Rost as he presents the ball straight back to City with a shambolic clearance that barely clears his area. Harum-scarum stuff around the edge of the Hamburg box ensues but eventually it's cleared.[LNB]8 Bit scrappy in the build-up but Richards bursts into a gap and into the Hamburg area. But just as he looks to get a shot away he loses his footing and stumbles, presenting the ball to Rost.[LNB]7 Olic cuts in from the left and lashes in a shot from distance but it's never troubling Given and flies well wide.[LNB]6 Trochowski curls the free-kick in but it's all too easy for Given. City look to press forward quickly but Robinho has just strayed past the last defender again.[LNB]5 Free-kick to Hamburg down their left deep in City territory.[LNB]5 Colin Carr the first emailer of the evening. Lucky enough to have seen a replay and Bridge caught him on the back of the head in an aerial challenge. Nothing to worry about, though.[LNB]3 Caicedo's flick finds Robinho past the last man and a roar goes up...as does the linesman's flag. Smoke just lifting from the stadium as a result of a flare in the away section. Cracking atmosphere.[LNB] Dynamo Kiev are the first team through to the semis - they've beaten PSG 3-0 on the night and on aggregate. They'll play either Shakhtar Donetsk or Marseille in the last four, with the winners here tonight facing Werder Bremen or Udinese.[LNB] City are odds-on for the win tonight with our friends at Sky Bet - it's 10/11 the home win, 12/5 the draw and 5/2 the away win.
