Magath No Fan Of English Game

Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath is not a fan of English football and claims there was a "difference in class" between Hamburg and Manchester City in the UEFA Cup on Thursday. Magath watched Martin Jol's Hamburg defeat City 3-1 in the first leg of their quarter-final to take Germany's record against English clubs to three wins and only one defeat in European competition this season. Hamburg have already beaten Aston Villa this year and Magath's Wolfsburg overcame Portsmouth, with Schalke suffering the only loss at the hands of Manchester City. "I am not a fan of this discussion that the English play such great football," Magath said on Sat.1 television. "HSV were clearly better. There was a difference in class. The only quick football you could see was from HSV." Magath's own team have been in sparkling form in Germany this season with their quick play down the wings and the potency of star strikers Edin Dzeko and Grafite. The Wolves currently lead the Bundesliga on goal difference from Hamburg.
