Lopez linked with English move

Diego Lopez has insisted he is staying focused on Villarreal after being linked with a switch to the Premier League. The highly-rated goalkeeper has attracted attention for a series of sparkling performances this season, while he has also broken into the Spain squad. Manchester City are understood to be interested in securing his services and have sent scouts to watch him in action in recent weeks. Manchester United and Newcastle have also been connected with the 27-year-old, although he insists he has not been approached by any club. Lopez is flattered by the speculation about a move to England but is not paying much attention to it at this stage. He is concentrating solely on trying to help Villarreal secure European football for next season. "I have not spoken with anybody and these rumours always appear in relation to the Premier League," Lopez told the Spanish press. "This is praise for any footballer but now I am focused on Villarreal for the last few matches of this season."
