Leeds wait on compo case

Leeds must wait until next month at least before learning how much compensation they will receive for former academy duo George Swan and Louis Hutton. The two 14-year-olds chose to sign for Manchester City during the summer, who offered £70,000 for the pair. While accepting City have not broken any rules, Ken Bates' League One high-fliers turned down this offer. Instead they referred the case to the Professional Football Compensation Committee. But the hearing has now been postponed at the request of the Premier League club after a member of their staff fell ill. The Whites' current battle comes after they were awarded up to £1.5million in compensation for England youth international Luke Garbutt last week. The pay-out came after Garbutt chose to sign for Everton in the summer after spending eight years at the Leeds academy.
