Kompany makes case for defence

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany insists they have nothing to worry about over their defence. City have conceded seven goals already this season, but they remain undefeated after three games with two wins and a draw to their name.

And Kompany has dismissed suggestions that they are showing a new frailty at the back, having kept 17 clean sheets last season. "It doesn't matter.

We've always proved to be solid come difficult times," he said when asked about not keeping a clean sheet thus far this term. "Come December, January and February we'll show it. At this time everyone tries to play the game nicely. "We left ourselves exposed but at the end of the season we won't do that."
