Vincent KompanyVincent Kompany reckons the race for fourth is still as finely balanced as ever despite a favourable set of weekend results for Manchester City. The Blues hammered Burnley 6-1 at Turf Moor, while Tottenham lost to Sunderland and Liverpool were held by Birmingham. But Kompany was cautious when asked whether City are now the best equipped of the teams vying for fourth place. ?We have plenty of options, but Spurs also have a very big squad,? he said. ?I don't think we have an advantage in that respect, but we are in a strong position. ?We still have to play Arsenal, United, Tottenham and Villa and you could say they are difficult games for us, but to me they are perfect games for us, because they are direct opponents. ?We have done better against big teams, and that is why it was important to getresults against Wigan and Burnley, and why it is even more important to get a result against Birmingham next week. ?Fourth place feels close now, but Tottenham and Villa feel like the games which will determine what happens. ?We don't want Liverpool to come too close, so we need to beat Birmingham to give us a better chance. But the end of the season still seems to be so far away.? City left back Sylvinho, who enjoyed a rare start in the Burnley game, revealed his excitement at being in the race for the top four. Sylvinho said: ?When you talk about the top four in the Premier League, people are used to seeing four teams, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.
