ShareKolo Toure's 'psychological obsession with his belly' led to him failing the drugs test which resulted in a six-month ban for the Manchester City defender.[LNB]Toure was so desperate about his weight that he took water tablets recommended by a friend of his wife Mahoo. [LNB]The failed test which followed was a result of the presence of a prohibited substance in the tablets. [LNB] Sidelined: Toure will miss in total six months of football following the drugs charge[LNB] The FA revealed details of Toure's case and it showed in detail not only that the former City captain had become fixated by his weight - in particular his stomach - but also the shambolic attempts he made to check the legality of the substance.[LNB]The FA report revealed that Toure had 'a misplaced perception that he was fat, a symptom of his medical condition'. [LNB]It read: 'MT put the water tablets into a drug dosette. On January 29, he travelled for the fourth round FA Cup match to be played against Notts County.[LNB]'He took his supplement including the dosette in a bag branded 'Herbalife'. KT's recollection was that he gavethat bag (including the dosette) to the club doctor, Dr Butler, in the hotel restaurant early that evening and asked him, "...these are the supplements I take. Are they okay?"[LNB]'At the time two of the MCFC coaching staff, Attilio Lombardo and Fausto Salsano were close by. KT recalled DrButler looking through the bag, lifting out some of the contents and then telling him that "everything in the bag is okay". That was not Dr Butler's recollection.'[LNB] Powerhouse: Toure had been one of City's most consistent performers since his switch from Arsenal[LNB]The statement went on to add that Toure 'did not have any products with him at the time and simply informed him (Butler) he wanted to start taking 'Herbalife' supplements'.[LNB]Butler added that Toure had given him some 'Herbalife' products to check at the club's training ground a few days later but 'never saw the drug dosette'.[LNB]The FA said: 'It was not suggested that he was shown the medicine bottle with the 'water tablets x21' label then or at any stage.'[LNB]The report concluded that Dr Butler 'never told him it was safe to use water tablets' and 'he would unequivocally have said such were prohibited and should not be used'.[LNB] Keeping it covered: An FA report suggests Kolo Toure has an obsession with his weight and in particular his belly[LNB]The 30-year-old said he had been taking two tablets a day since January, although not on match days as they made him feel 'a bit tired'. A friend of his wife had sent them by post.[LNB]His attempt to check whether they were 'OK for footballers' consisted of his wife's friend phoning a clinic that supplied them in London and asking the receptionist.
