Kidd hails Ince achievements

Manchester City assistant boss Brian Kidd is not surprised to see Notts County boss Paul Ince making a name for himself in management. Although, like Kidd himself, Ince did not have the greatest of times as manager at Blackburn, he has noted how the former England star's reputation is blossoming in the lower leagues. It comes from a character Kidd helped to forge when they shared common goals at Manchester United - Ince as a midfield schemer in Sir Alex Ferguson's first title-winning team, and Kidd as the Scot's assistant. And it is no shock to Kidd that Ince has masterminded an FA Cup fourth-round replay against big-spending City following their stalemate at Meadow Lane three weeks ago. "Paul is doing a cracking job down there. He is very knowledgeable and very passionate, as he was as a player," said Kidd. "I am sure he will do really well. Looking back, Blackburn will turn out to be a great experience for him. He will be stronger for it. "When you look at who came through when I was at United, you can see the mentality they were brought up in. They wanted to win but they also loved football. It was not a money thing. "Paul Ince certainly had that. He was a fantastic midfield player and is part of the fabric of Manchester United."
