The talented teenager has been ear-marked for a switch to Italy's top flight having caught the eye with a string of impressive performances.

Currently plying his trade with Serie B outfit FC Padova, Diakite, 16, has already been likened to former Juventus and Chelsea great Gianluca Vialli.

His performances at Padova have brought about a large amount of interest, with Ciro Ferrara's side amongst a number of high profile clubs reportedly interested in his signature.

But Juventus are not the only side rumoured to be in the running, with Manchester City also reported to be on the case.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport suggest City have already made contact with Padova over a possible deal.

Reports indicate that the strapping striker has long been an admirer of the Premier League and in particular City defender Kolo Toure.
