Simon Kjaer looks set to stay in Serie A if he leaves Palermo in the summer after Juventus emerged as favourites to sign the defender.

Manchester City had a bit for Kjaer turned down in January while Manchester United and Liverpool have also been heavily linked with the Dane.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is a known admirer and can now offer Champions League football but Kjaer, one of the hottest properties in the Italian top flight, could be heading for Turin.

The 20-year-old said: 'Even if Juventus did not do very well this season, it remains a very good team. I like the shirt and the history of the club.'

But with Palermo sitting fifth in Serie A with two games to go, Kjaer could be staying where he is.

He added: 'I think next year I could easily wear the shirt of Palermo. Playing in the Champions League with Palermo is a great motivation.'
