And this is despite the winger, who is a key figure in Fabio Capello?s new-generation squad, scoring in his last two games for the in-form Blues. Roberto Mancini appeared to make a point to Johnson by dropping him after it was revealed he and team-mate Micah Richards had bid £12,000 for a date with glamour model Katie Price. The manager has also suggested Johnson needs to become more of a team player and said this week: ?He just needs to understand it is not enough to dribble past an opponent six times to feel entitled to think he has reached the top. ?You need to dribble but you also need a cutting shot like the goal against Juve, or in the 2-1 win against Newcastle.? But Johnson, now with the England squad for Tuesday?s Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro, said he is prepared to battle to get back into the starting line-up. ?I was very disappointed to lose my place after I was man of the match against Blackburn and I haven?t started a Premier League game since,? he said. ?That is hard for me, but we have a great squad here and the manager makes the decisions ? you just have to deal with them. ?The competition for places is tough. We have world-class players and the big signings who have come in have made it even harder, but I am prepared for the fight.? Johnson has responded to his demotion by scoring the equaliser when handed a start in the Europa League draw with Juventus last week, and then coming off the bench to grab a winner against Newcastle. He added: ?I have been playing well, and my form hasn?t dropped at all, so I am just looking forward to a start. ?Coming on and scoring against Newcastle was magnificent. ?The fans were singing my name to come on sooner, which is nice.? Is Mancini using Johnson in the right way? Have your say.| Submit Comments| Comments (19)| Printable VersionAdd A CommentEnter your comments:Sending
