Man City have received a welcome boost with the news that midfielder Michael Johnson is set to return after a seven-month absence. The 21-year-old is set to make his comeback for the reserves at Middlesbrough on Tuesday after recovering sufficiently from a long-standing groin injury. The player has only made eight appearances this term after being sidelined since September with the problem. Welcoming his impending return, City boss Mark Hughes said: "He has got to the point now where he is comfortable with the pain he will work with. "He's had a frustrating kind of injury that young players sometimes find difficult to cope with - they just want to play."
