Johnson eyes loan move

Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson accepts he might have to go out on loan for the remainder of the season. Johnson, 22, continued his comeback from a cruciate ligament injury last night when he played 45 minutes for the reserves in the 4-0 victory against Rochdale in the EDS Senior Cup. He last appeared for the first team in October 2009 when he scored in the 5-1 Carling Cup win over Scunthorpe. Since then City have bolstered their midfield and Johnson, whose career has been hampered by injury, knows it will be difficult to break into the side. "We have a lot of world class players. That is why we are second in the league, " he told www.mcfc.co.uk. "It is better for me to go and get games now. Ideally maybe going out somewhere for the rest of the season and getting match fit might be a better option (than staying)."
