Adam Johnson's neat finish earned Manchester City a 1-1 draw in their Europa League clash with Juventus. The Serie A side started brightly and surged into a 10th minute lead when Vincenzo Iaquinta drive home a deflected effort from 35 yards. City responded in the right fashion and could have levelled just after the half hour when Gareth Barry headed off the post, but they were level just three minutes later. After a period of prolonged possession, Yaya Toure threaded an exquisite pass through to Johnson who poked home from 12 yards. Both teams pushed for a winner after the break with Johnson going close to a second when his low shot after a weaving run was well saved. Alessandro Del Piero fired a 20-yard free-kick just wide 10 minutes later and with five minutes left he gave City a real scare when another free-kick thundered off the underside of the bar, with the assistant ruling the ball had not crossed the line on the way down.
