Joe Hart wants to play 'all the way through to finals'

England goalkeeper Joe Hart has told coach Fabio Capello he is willing to risk burn-out by playing every minute of his country's preparations for Euro 2012.

Hart is firmly established as England and Manchester City number one and that is exactly the way he wants it to stay right through the end of Euro 2012.

While the physical demands on Hart may not be as great as those placed on out-field players, the mental aspect of the game is draining in its own way.

Playing a key role in City's challenge in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup, as well as turning out for England, could leave Hart drained by the time Euro 2012 rolls around.

The goalkeeper has started 11 of England's last 12 matches and believes Capello should allow him to extend that run by picking him for Saturday's friendly against Spain and next Tuesday's clash with Sweden.

"If I picked the team I would want to play in every second of every game that I can play in," Hart said.

"But I don't pick the team. If I'm picked, then I'd love to play. But the manager decides and what he says goes.

"He doesn't seem to change it but that's not really my concern. I've got to look out for myself.

"I just want to play. As selfish as that sounds, I just look after myself."

Hart, in fine form for City this season, is especially keen to play against world and European champions Spain as it means the chance to measure himself against one of his heroes in Iker Casillas.

"He's an absolute legend, goalkeeper-wise, and he's still very young," Hart said of the Spain and Real Madrid stopper.

"If you look at his story and what he's done with Real Madrid and with Spain, he is the pinnacle of goalkeeping at the moment, someone who you look up to.

"I'd be honoured if I got to play against him, to be honest. He's been at the top of his game, without question.

"He's won everything you can win, so he ticks all the boxes and is someone you idolise for what he is. It would be amazing if I can be half the goalkeeper he is."

Hart also hopes to come face to face with City team-mate David Silva who he believes is the best player in the Premier League even though he cannot command a regular spot for Spain.

"Without a doubt, David Silva would be an automatic choice in any other side in the world," Hart said.

"He is a quality person, a quality player and I'd like to see him starting for Spain on Saturday.

"He's called the magician. Everything he does is very easy for him."
