England goalkeeper Joe Hart was dropped for Manchester City's opening Premier League game of the season against Sunderland.

New boss Pep Guardiola left the 29-year-old on the bench for the Saturday evening clash at the Etihad Stadium, preferring instead the Argentinian Willy Caballero.

Guardiola's decision came amid some speculation over Hart's future, with reports suggesting the Spanish manager may move for a new keeper.

Two of Guardiola's new signings, John Stones and Nolito, were handed debuts while left-back Aleksandar Kolarov was deployed in central defence.
