Ireland reveals health fear

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Stephen Ireland is yet to establish what caused his dizzy spell against Fulham in September.[LNB] The Manchester City midfielder suddenly felt unwell during the Carling Cup clash at Eastlands and was immediately hauled off by boss Mark Hughes.[LNB]When his symptoms failed to improve he was taken to Wythenshawe hospital for extensive medical tests.[LNB]He was released in the early hours of the following morning, but Doctors have been unable to distinguish a cause for the illness.[LNB]Ireland insists he is now fighting fit once more, but admits he was deeply concerned for his long-term health when forced off against the Cottagers.[LNB]"Thankfully it wasn't too serious because at the time I thought that was the end of me," he told the Manchester Evening News.[LNB]Positive"I don't know what it was. I have had every test that there is and I still don't know but it was a bit of a strange scare.[LNB]"It took me a while to get right but I am back on track. Everything is looking positive."[LNB]Ireland has recently lost his place in the City first team, with the battle for a starting berth at Eastlands fiercely competitive.[LNB]A summer overhaul of the playing staff has helped the club to compete alongside English football's elite and while it will invariably take time for the new faces to settle, Ireland feels the Blues have already made impressive progress.[LNB]"We have almost got a brand new squad but we have clicked really well," he said.[LNB]"We have to get on with it if we want to achieve things and win things this year."[LNB]
