Stephen IrelandManchester City will assess Stephen Ireland after the midfielder suffered a shin injury in last night's 2-0 loss to Everton. Ireland, who had been making his first appearance in a month after being overlooked by Roberto Mancini, was forced off before half-time in the Premier League clash at Eastlands. It was a blow for the 23-year-old, who may now face a battle to prove his fitness for Monday's clash against Wigan. Mancini said: "I don't know if it is a big injury, I am hoping it is just a little injury."
