Veteran midfielder Dietmar Hamann is considering an offer to join Hull City. The club are willing to offer the German a one year contract on about £20,000 a week and will hold talks next week. Hamann, 35, is available on a free transfer after being released by Manchester City. The former Liverpool and Newcastle midfielder, who has been troubled by gambling debts, has been taking his coaching badges in England. He has also had offers from Germany but would prefer to stay in this country. Hull are still hopeful of pipping Celtic to sign Nancy striker Marc- Antoine Fortune, who was on loan at West Bromwich last season. Meanwhile, Manchester City defender Tal Ben Haim looks set to join Panathinaikos.
