IGEL de Jong played through the pain barrier to help the resurgent Blues beat Chelsea. And the Dutch midfield hard nut was one of several City players who, manager Mark Hughes believes, are starting to show why he was prepared to spend big money on them. Strike duo Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor also came to the party in the stunning 2-1 win over the league leaders - and Tevez in particular rammed the doubts of a few critics, and some Blues fans, back down their throats.
